Cleaning The Broiler Pans
Broiler pans catch the food droppings and get grimy very quickly, so there is a need to use the right and effective cleaning techniques (such as keeping the scrubbing minimum or making use of baking soda or dryer sheets) in order to get rid of such stubborn stains.
Here are some of the methods mentioned below which you can use for cleaning of broiler pans.
1.Use Baking Soda
One of the easiest and simplest ways is making use of baking soda. In this method, you will need the following items:
- Baking soda
- Paper towels
- Water in spray bottle
- A sponge or washcloth
Instructions
- Sprinkle baking soda on the broiler pan and make a thick layer of it after placing it in the sink. Spray water on baking soda and make a paste of it.
- Cover the pan surface with a paper towel for keeping it wet for a longer time so that food residue and stubborn stains can be loosen easily. In case of drying out of towels, you can make it wet by spraying water again.
- Wait for at least half an hour, or for 2-3 hours or if there are many stubborn stains, then leave it overnight and let the water vaporise and then scrape off the remaining dried baking soda using a spatula and discard it into the garbage.
- After removing all of the baking soda, rinse the pan thoroughly and use some sponge or washcloth to wipe off any remaining residue so that the pan gets clean properly.
2.Soak the Pan with a Dryer Sheet
Use dryer sheets for soaking the pan and this method is very much effective for cleaning your broiler pans. For this purpose, you will need
- Dryer sheet
- Dish soap
- Sponge
Instructions
- If your broiler pan has space to hold some water, then use hot water to fill it else soak it in hot water using some large plastic tub.
- Pour a little bit of dishwashing detergent on the pan surface and lay a dryer sheet on top of the pan and it must be submerged in water. I use Fabric Softener Sheets and the results are very good.
- Two dryer sheets can also be used for cleaning the food residue or burnt-on grease from the pans.
- Let the pan settle down with a dryer sheet, dish soap and water for at least an hour or longer even overnight.
- Drain the water after removal of stubborn stains or you can also use a sponge if there is any residue left behind, and then give a final wash to your pan with water and dish soap and let it air dry.
